7 Tide Architect Spotlight: Frank Shirley

Eight New England architects recently unveiled their Marvin Window dream designs at ABX in Boston. Over the coming weeks, each architect will be profiled with his or her My Marvin Project window in our Architect Spotlight. Today’s Spotlight is on Frank Shirley of Frank Shirley Architects in Cambridge, MA.

For Frank Shirley, windows are a meaningful part of our collective memory, with historical precedent and a sustainable future. Frank found his Marvin inspiration in the beautiful 19th century windows found in New England homes.

According to Frank, “Our office strives to create facades that attain elegance by balancing the orderly and the picturesque, and our dream window strikes a fine balance between both. We enjoy beautiful accent windows – small gems that garnish a well-composed facade with a little sparkle and surprise. Every window our office designs is built for longevity.”

Each architect asked to design a Marvin Window was also asked to choose a song that they felt went well with their creation. Frank’s song is “Wake Me Up When September Ends” by Green Day.

Frank Shirley’s window is a magnificent combination of mahogany, low E2 glass and satin nickel hardware. For more window and door inspiration, visit Marvin at 7 Tide.
