Summer’s warm days and sultry nights cry out for dining al fresco. Luckily, there are plenty of restaurants who happily serve you outdoors in the Seaport District, where the ocean breezes add to the ambiance.
What would Seaport dining be without fish? Legal Sea Foods’ Legal Harborside is a 20,000-square foot restaurant right on the waterfront and includes outdoor seating on several levels with a third-floor promenade deck and rooftop lounge with retractable roof that’s packed after work and on the weekends.
Just a few doors down on Northern Avenue, 75 on Liberty Wharf also features seafood like their signature Nantucket Seafood Stew filled with shrimp, scallops, salmon, swordfish, mussels, halibut as well as variety of other entrees, salads and burgers—all of which can be enjoyed while watching the harbor buzz just steps from your table.
For a little turf with your surf, head to Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House at 250 Northern Avenue and indulge in prime rib, Wagyu steaks and fillet medallions while seated on their large outside patio. Also at 250 Northern Avenue, inside Temazcal Tequila Cantina, you can enjoy sophisticated Mexican cuisine such as shrimp rellenos and ahi tuna tacos. This Liberty Wharf eatery opened in 2011, and the more than 250 tequilas on their bar menu mix nicely with an amazing patio view of Boston Harbor.
District Hall’s Gather has an eclectic menu of modern American cuisine that includes oysters, octopus, Fungi Ragout Flatbread and other intriguing items. You will find both their indoor tables and outdoor seating at 75 Northern Avenue.
One of 15 Ocean Primes across the country, Ocean Prime Boston, a Cameron Mitchell restaurant, combines a little bit of everything—steaks, seafood, chicken and chops—as well as specialty crafted cocktails. Just around the corner from the Institute of Contemporary Art in the new 100 Pier 4 Building at 140 Seaport Boulevard, Ocean Prime Boston is right in the center of the bustling Seaport District.
