Whether you’re looking for a quick midday bite or a relaxing dinner before heading home, the restaurants in our area won’t disappoint. For classic clam shack cuisine with a view of the harbor, head to nearby Yankee Lobster. While there is nothing fancy about this eatery – think counter service and disposable cutlery – they serve the freshest fried seafood, cod cakes and every conceivable lobster creation including lobster mac and cheese, lobster rolls and a lobster club. If you’re looking for a more upscale seafood restaurant, Legal Harborside offers spectacular views within its 20,000 square foot waterfront restaurant. Should you feel the need to tuck into an artfully-prepared steak, Morton’s Seaport location is less than a mile away from 7 Tide.

Craft beer aficionados will be thrilled to find that the Seaport District has not one, but two breweries. Within a stone’s throw of 7 Tide is the Harpoon Brewery, which offers tours and tastings. A cavernous tasting room/bar/gift shop provides a convivial atmosphere for sampling and snacking. Just over a mile away is Trillium Brewing Company, which also offers tours. On tap, you’ll find a full selection of their mainstays and seasonal brews.

For the art lover, there’s The Institute of Contemporary Art, one of the most prestigious museums in the country devoted to showcasing modern art. Also in the neighborhood are Fort Point Arts Community Gallery and several outdoor art installations including the Before I Die wall, which changes constantly, and the semi-permanent Channel Center Garage Installation and Starry Nights.

Those with tykes in tow should consider Boston’s Children Museum an absolute must. Let them burn off energy at this interactive museum – they actually encourage running around – before visiting 7 Tide or as a reward for good behavior afterward.
