What is 7 Tide?

Built in 1943, as The Riggers and Sail Loft Building, and owned by the U.S. Navy Yard as part of its South Boston Annex until 1983, this 38,000-square-foot building has now been purchased by Clarke, New England’s Official Sub-Zero & Wolf Showroom and Test Kitchen, and is being totally renovated to re-open in 2015.

7 Tide is a singular Showroom of the Future.
The 38,000-square-foot building is currently planned to open with a first-floor Showroom of the Future leveraging human expertise and innovative technology to deliver a one-of-a-kind experience for architects, designers and homeowners. Additional square footage will house synergystic thought leaders in design, with plans for entertainment and meeting spaces to provide a unique nexus for New England’s most creative thinkers.

7 Tide is a reminder of Boston’s extraordinary history.
During WWII, 50,000 people worked on ships in this area, including industrious citizens at The Riggers and Sail Loft Building at 7 Tide Street. When the city of Boston purchased the Naval Yard Annex in 1983, the property at 7 Tide became a private office building right in the middle of Boston Marine Industrial Park. Over the past 30 years, the city has recognized the potential for the 1,000 acres of waterfront property that overlooks Boston Harbor, and Clarke is thrilled to be part of this wave of redevelopment in the most exciting part of the city.

Now, as the Seaport District has become known for its Boston Convention & Exhibition Center (BCEC), Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) and some of the top restaurants and hotels in the city, the far end of this waterfront property has been branded as Boston’s Innovation District, attracting tech companies, pharma laboratories and ingenious start-ups and venture capital firms.
